Having dinner at the Welfare Café one evening, I mused over a fly carefully investigating the area of white linen table cloth next to the salt and pepper shakers. As I watched, I thought, "What a wonderfully odd still-life composition this would make, amusing some, offending others." The idea for the ‘Fly Series’ was born. Since then, I have had great fun watching for ‘new compositions’ to present themselves.

First Course I came about while dining on the patio with friends at The Welfare Café - watching a fly check out the leftovers.
