I discovered a female black-chinned hummingbird trapped and hanging in an orb weaver's web in the woods around my home. It was an eerie sight. She was motionless, exhausted from her struggle. I carefully freed her from the tangled web and removed the sticky pieces from her wings and body and then released her. I felt compelled to recreate this scene based on the strong emotional impact it had on me.
